Mr. Ibrahim Muhanna

Ibrahim Muhanna is the Managing Director of i.e. Muhanna & co. (Actuarial Services) since 1986 whereby he has advised insurers, governments and other clients in 32 countries. He graduated from the University of Michigan (1976) with a MSc in Actuarial Mathematics. Since 1995 Mr. Muhanna has been a member of the IAA Council. He is also a member of the IAA Executive Committee and is actively involved in other IAA committees. For example, Mr. Muhanna is Chairperson of the Members Services Committee and he is Vice-chairperson of the Advice and Assistance Committee and of the IAA Health Section. Mr. Muhanna's other roles involve being the first Chairman of the Cyprus Actuarial Association. He is a member of the Swiss Association of Actuaries and is the President of the Lebanese Association of Actuaries. He has written several papers on actuarial and insurance issues. In 1994 he established the Muhanna Foundation. In 2001 he introduced the first financial strength rating services for insurance companies in the Arab World.

Mr. George Psaras

Managing Actuary - Pensions and Social Insurance
i.e. Muhanna & Co. - Cyprus

George M. Psaras has been with the Muhanna group since 1987. He is the Managing Actuary for Social Insurance, Pensions and Provident Funds and Deputy Managing Director. He graduated in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from the University of Texas at Austin and from City University, London. He is a founding member and Fellow of the Cyprus Association of Actuaries and Past President and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. He is also a founding member of the International Actuarial Association committee for social insurance and a member of the professionalism committee. He is also a member of the pensions committee of the European Actuarial Consultative Group. His experience includes actuarial and management consulting services to governments and semi-government organizations in the following countries: Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, Yemen and United Arab Emirates. He is also authorized as an appointed actuary for insurance companies in Cyprus and Bahrain.

Mr. Iyad Hourani

Senior Actuary
i.e. Muhanna & Co. - Lebanon

Mr. Iyad Hourani has been with the Muhanna group since 2005. He is a Senior Actuary specialized in Retirement Schemes, Employee Benefits, Social Insurance, and Pension Fund Asset Allocation. Prior to joining the Muhanna group, Mr. Hourani worked 9 years in Canada with two international HR and actuarial consulting firms (AON and Watson Wyatt) as well as at Metropolitan Life Insurance co. He graduated in Actuarial Sciences from Laval University in Quebec, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Lebanese Actuarial Association. His experience includes actuarial, HR and management consulting services to multinational companies, private corporations and para-public organizations in the following countries: Canada, USA, France, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other countries in the Middle-East. Throughout his career, he has also actively participated in setting up and delivering several training programs.

Mrs. Mireille Safar

Senior Assistant Actuary
i.e. Muhanna & Co. - Lebanon

Mrs. Mireille Khorassandjian Safar is a senior assistant actuary at i.e. Muhanna and co. She has been with the Muhanna group since 2001, where she has been working extensively in the fields of Social Insurance, Retirement Schemes, Employee Benefits and Health care. She is a student member of the Institute of Actuaries, United Kingdom. Her experience includes actuarial and management consulting services to Social Security, pension funds, public and semi-public organizations in the following countries: Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Yemen and other countries in the Middle-East. She is also the programs manager of the Muhanna Foundation, and has been heavily involved in the development of training programs, mostly targeted to train employees working in the field of Social Insurance in the Arab World.
